The City of Belzoni is hard at work getting the Christmas Tree up and ready for the event on December 4th! Be on the look out for more Christmas Decor as we get closer to the date. We can’t wait to see you all..
5:00pm Event Begins: Food trucks will be on hand for your dinner! Also Guaranty Bank and Trust will be handing out popcorn and Bank Plus will be providing Christmas Cookies! Take a stroll around the Story Walk to see the new Christmas book: Twas the Night Before Christmas in Mississippi. Thanks to Mississippi State University, the Humphreys County Library will be giving away 100 copies of this book to the first 100 families who go around the story walk and fill out a brief survey. After your journey through the story walk, please stop by and meet the artists at the Delta Wind Birds table next to the Library’s table on Centennial Green! These wonderful individuals will be painting two murals in our city! You can learn all about it. Keep Belzoni Beautiful will be offering a Winter Farmers Market as well. The Belzoni Humphreys Development Foundation will be handing out goodies bags to the kids as well!
5:30pm Christmas Tree Lighting: Mayor Joe Jackson and Development Foundation President, Emily Tillman Donovan will lead us into our Tree Lighting Ceremony followed immediately by a snow storm!!
6:00pm Movie Begins: Thanks to Belzoni Cable, Frosty’s Winter Wonderland will be offered for free on the big screen on the green! Grab you something to eat and get ready to settle in. Run time is 25 minutes. We highly suggest bringing a chair!
